Behind Closed Doors, Part II

I made a lot of progress on my mission to clear out and organize our walk-in pantry/storage closet. You can read about Part I here. Below is a photo to reference its location:

On the left-hand side

I started by clearing almost every thing out, vacuuming, then playing around with storage placement. I have a hutch in the closet that originally belonged to our computer desk but I now use to store odds and ends. Next to the hutch is a small cabinet that we inherited with the place. I was going to get rid of it but it now stores one of Dan's drums and various camera supplies. Before I placed them on the back wall, they were located on the left side wall.

You can't even see the hutch but it's next to the cabinet on the left under the brown basket. I can't believe I let this room get so terrible. I digress...

I liked them on the back wall but I didn't really like the cabinet on the right because it created a weird little nook that would be difficult to get to.

So I switched them. Much better.

The shelves I simply pared down and organized.

In the end I had two decent-sized piles to throw away and donate.

Sorry the photo coloring looks so weird, it was late at night.

It felt so good to get rid of a lot of items that were cluttering the closet unnecessarily. There were things in there that I hadn't even thought of or touched since we moved in (almost 2 years ago) so they were the first things to go. I went through drawers and boxes that I hadn't looked through thoroughly in a long time so it was nice to get that deep-down clean that the room really needed. Doing this also allowed me to get rid of a lot of boxes that were storing things that I didn't need so that freed up even more space. I'm doing some final arrangements so stay tuned for the final installment! Did anyone get a chance to tackle any projects over the weekend?
