This photo from DecorPad pretty much sums up what I want for our master bedroom. A soothing retreat- that's what I'm trying for. Our cape cod style house has this very same room shape minus the dormers (we do want to do skylights one day). But the blue walls, white accents, and built-in shelves are right up our decorating alley. Those lamps are also perfection and the upholstered headboard is divine.
Anyways, since we bought a cape cod, the upstairs is basically a master suite including our bedroom and my future dressing room (*squeal*). Our original plan was to turn the smaller room into a bathroom but after getting some estimates it turns out the plumbing/piping alone was going to run us almost 10 grand- yikes. The idea is still in (the back of) our minds but we just don't have the funds right now for it. Besides, there are so many other projects (like a kitchen reno) that will be keeping us busy so maybe one day we'll get around to tacking that addition. For now though we'll just have to go down to the main level to shower. And if that's occupied there's also a full bath in the finished basement.
Therefore the lack of a master bathroom upstairs = the addition of my very own dressing room and I'm definitely stoked to get working on that little gem. Here's what's inspiring me:
Loving the pink and gray scheme
Gotta have a chandelier
Perfect example of the room I'll be working with, slant-y ceilings and all.
Do any of you have your own dressing room? Would any of you give up a master bathroom for a dressing room? It's definitely not my first choice but it's not a bad compromise either in my opinion. Today's the day guys- ahh!
