They're Heeeeeeere

And by they I of course mean our brand spankin new kitchen cabinets that were delivered Friday afternoon. Since I was leaving straight from work to go to Maryland for the weekend, I asked Dan to film me a quick video of the cabinets as well as our new sink so I could get a feel for the scale and because I just couldn't wait three long days to see them. Now that I'm home I couldn't love them more and today our contractor is starting the sheet rock process (Friday he took all the measurements once more and made a list of what he'd need to be ready to go on Monday).

So without further adieu, here they are, filmed on Dan's Droid so bear with the kinda crappy quality:

Things to note:
  • The sink is huge and he's right about not being able to really grasp the size of it. His comment when I asked about it? "You can put triplets in there!!" of course referring to the fact that I am excited to one day be able to wash our baby in the kitchen sink.
  • Yes some of the cabinet door seams are not as seamless as they should be so we need to have them reordered. This is not a big deal really since by the time every other step is completed and we are ready for cabinet doors they will be here.*
  • The drawers have that awesome "quiet-close" feature that Dan is very excited about.
  • The two base cabinets (that I believe will be on the fridge wall) have roll-out shelves for easy access to all those things that usually get lost in the back.**

And here are a few pics I snapped last night:

Looks like we finished up the floors just in time for this special delivery and once they're in place in the kitchen I'll be able to put the dining room properly back in order and show off the new floors to you guys! I still have to make a final decision about kitchen paint colors since that is the next step after sheet rock and then after that we need to decide what we're doing about cabinet hardware (brushed nickel and black are my top two contenders). If you guys have any advice on either paint or hardware, let me know!
