And now:
We finally put together our second Dolce chair (after a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and promises to never make Dan put one together again- read more about that here) and moved the second wingback down to the basement (the first is in the dining room). The newly upholstered ottomans also lighten the look and the updated shelves add a ton of interest.
You can see our "new" coffee table got a little facelift brought on by my impulse purchase of a quart of Behr's Heron in the Oops section for only 2 bucks. The table was originally a Craigslist purchase that the guy wound up giving to me for free. It's kinda hard to photograph the true color but it's much more muted with gray undertones in real life. You can see it's original color (black) here.
I chose to keep the top it's original finish since drinks are bound to be spilled and cup rings will indefinitely be left behind. I'm actually loving the two-toned look and the fact that I don't have to be paranoid when people set down a drink.
This wall needs a little something-something...
As does the space above this chair...
And one last shot of the recently added and updated shelves.
P.S. If you're really observant you saw that some of these shots included the updated shelves and some didn't. Oh the reality of blogging...
