Maryland Thrifting, Take II

Hey guys! First off, I am kind of amazed at how many of you came out of the woodwork for this week's giveaway. Where have you all been hiding? Either way, a huge "welcome" goes out to my newest followers and a heartfelt "what's up"to you daily readers. This past weekend I had a lot of fun visiting a good friend in Maryland so Monday and Tuesday were spent relaxing and recovering. And as usual, when we get together in Maryland thrifting is bound to take place, just like last time I went.

My friends live pretty close to the Delaware border so we drove into Main Street and stumbled upon Aunt Margaret's Antique Mall (in Newark, if you're wondering). Here's what caught my eye (excuse the phone quality):

This place was the perfect mix for me: organized enough that I could see everything if I had the time to search but still packed enough that I felt like I was discovering things at every turn.

This vintage shaving mirror (with teensy little pull out drawer) was cast iron and awesome but they were asking over $100.
The wood boxes were sweet too.

I thought this "pantry" would be cute if someone needed the extra storage. Painted out in crisp white or another fun color would make it a little more modern.
(Did you notice the bottom right cabinet says "Taters"? So cute)

Loved these birds, one bigger than the other. 9 bucks.

Dan and I both love old fans and this one was no exception. 25 bucks.

I've always loved these prints of "the hunt" but the frames and mats made them a little too dated for my liking.

Greek key juice glasses with gold rims.

Oh this mirror. I am still kind of kicking myself for not buying it (they were asking $30 which for me is a little pricey) but I could always go back. Some day. If I feel like making the two hour drive...

If you think I'm crazy, look at these rooms:

Yeah, pretty cool. I know where it is if I ever find the perfect spot.

This shelf. Let me just break this one down for you:

And one final shot. Funny story about that lady above. We were kind of following each other around the store (just happened to be going the same pace) and met up with her at the end by the register. She started up a conversation about Nate Berkus and we told her how we went to his show! She was sweet.

Now what did I take home with me? Well I told you I bought that tin and here it is:

Yes, I'm insane and I bought it because it will look adorable around Christmastime (and the fact that it's from a very nearby town- what are the odds?).
And yes, I wish we could skip summer and go straight to Fall.

Hence these next beauties:

Bronze maple leaf candleholders. Fall can't come soon enough.
I really am in love with these and can see myself using them for years and years to come. 12 bucks for the pair.

Now this guy, he just stole my heart. A retro aqua microphone for 7 bucks. And for some strange reason my camera did not want to focus on the mouth part and I must've taken about 15 shots. I'll have to take some more one I get him set up somewhere.

And in case you were worried, I did leave with one fan. This black beauty for 9 doll hairs. It might be my favorite thrift score in a while. The cord is ridiculously long so for now it'll stay wrapped up around the base. I may just remove it completely since the plug's pretty gnarly and I don't wanna risk an electrical fire behind our walls.

So there you have my weekend wrap up.

P.S. My dining room plate wall and mini makeover was featured yesterday on Better After

P.P.S. I will be announcing the giveaway winner later today so be sure to get in your entries if you haven't already!
