A Year in Review

Alternate title: Happy House-iversary to us! It has been officially one year since we moved into this quaint little cape cod and boy did we make a few changes. I know everyone says it but seriously...how has a whole year gone by already?? It feels like just yesterday I was leaving work early to go sign the most important papers of my life (aside from our marriage license) and singing "Our House" all the way to our new house! Now here we are, 365 days later and it feels like we've only just cracked the surface of our plans for this place. Here are the highlights from this past year:*

*Warning: This post is photo heavy!

+Painted every room: Living/dining room, kitchen, bedroom, guest room, bathroom, dressing room:

+Gutted entire kitchen and renovated top to bottom with new insulation, drywall (walls and ceiling), new wood floors, new appliances, new cabinets, hardware, and countertops. The kitchen is not 100% finished yet but we're almost there:

+Ripped out carpet and tile and laid new wood floors throughout the entire first floor (excluding the bathroom):

{Same exact angle}

+Painted the front door, changed exterior light fixture, painted the mailbox, and added new hardware:

+Decorated the outside for Halloween (the day after it snowed!):

+Declared our living room in a state of crisis but eventually brightened things up with DIY'ed curtains and reupholstered ottomans:

+Celebrated our first Christmas and made snow jars:

+Trash picked a new TV stand and possibly my most favorite piece of furniture:

+Decorated the Entry over and over:

+Wrangled the basement into a semi-organized state:

+Gave a tutorial on planting window boxes:

+Made a plate wall in the dining room:

+Installed lots of trim:

+Found a campaign dresser, laid new floors and hung art in my dressing room:

+And finally we started our next big project: turning two bookcases into built-ins:

Phew! That was a nice little trip down memory lane. I didn't include every project and photo because that would've been cah-razey but feel free to browse through my archives and see it all for yourself! We have really settled into this little home of ours and things are finally starting to look the way I always imagined. Stay tuned next week for our future plans...

Have a great weekend everyone!
