A couple weekends ago I went apple picking with some of the fam and at the farm was a great assortment of pumpkins in such cool, odd shapes and colors. Since it was still early I didn't want to go crazy buying pumpkins that may or may not have lasted until the 31st so I took it easy and bought just one beautifully classic orange guy.
He fit right in with my other two faux white pumpkins.
Then, as nature would have it, a few squirrels made it their personal mission to absolutely destroy my beautiful plump pumpkin by scratching a tiny hole, making it a little bigger every day, and then finally breaking through until I came home to this one day after work:
Such a sad day. But I am glad I didn't buy more at the farm that would have ultimately suffered the same fate.
Now I just need to replace him before Halloween with a true Jack-o-lantern or two.
In other pumpkin news, a few little white gourds have found happy homes around the house like on our stack of black books in the entry:
...and chilling on our window sill in the kitchen.
Ahh Fall :)
