While the nursery is definitely "done," or at least as done as I had planned, there was still a little something missing. Remember my final mood board for the room?
The silver ottoman wound up staying down in our living room since I use it there much more often but when Evey's sleeping in her crib at night I'll probably move it back upstairs. The one other item that I had planned on using but never got around to buying was the Ikea Lappljung Ruta pillow. At 39 weeks pregnant my husband wasn't okay with my traveling to Ikea by myself to buy a pillow so I just chalked it up to running out of time. Then my wonderful mother surprised me with a little gift this past week...
As a faithful reader of this here blog she knew I had my eye on it and when I didn't get it for myself she went and got it for me. Thanks Mom, you're the best!
Now the room really feels done and I love how it brings in more black to tie in with the other elements like her chevron blanket, our light fixtures, and the frame on her book ledges.
The second addition to her room was also a gift. A friend of ours typed up this awesome print for Evey detailing all of her birth stats and I used a little washi tape to hang it up in her closet. Thanks Erica!
If a room can ever be "done" this is as good as it gets.
